Orissa gear up to host National TT coaching camp first time

Orissa State Table Tennis Association (OSTTA) is gearing up to host the National Table Tennis Coaching camp for sub-junior (u-14) and cadet (u-12) boys and girls at Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium here from May 4 to 23. ‘‘Table Tennis Federation of India (TTFI) has selected a total of 16 top ranking paddlers of the country to join the camp, which will be the first of its kind in the state. Four experienced coaches, including Orissa’s Raj Subramaniam will provide tips to help the future TT hopes of the country to improve skills and fitness,’’ OSTTA secretary Rabindra Kumar Parida told mediapersons at Barabati Stadium, Cuttack today.

‘‘India probables for different international competitions will be selected from the camp. TTFI has allowed us to include eight of our young national-level players in the programme. All efforts will be made to make the players and coaches feel comfortble here,’’ he added. ‘‘Sports Authority of India has committed to provide support for the camp under Long Term Development Plan (LTDP),’’ SAI Deputy Director Martin Kujur stated.
